KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 13, 2024

FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up the marriages here at FMC. May they be honoring to You and Your design for marriage so that generations may be blessed through their obedience. It’s so easy to be selfish and hurt in this broken world – strengthen us to love one another as You have loved us – selflessly and continually. Strengthen the hearts and minds of Your children as they seek to live our the calling You have placed on them through submission and reverence to one another for the sake of Christ – just as He submitted to the You for the sake of the Church. May generations be blessed because of our obedience.

SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: 2 Tim. 1:5-7 ~ Sacrifice + Obedience

FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…intimacy with Jesus is treasured…the Savior of the world, humbly submitted, fully surrendered – for those who would reject and scorn Him. Jesus, thank you for Your sacrifice and the promised hope of salvation for all of those who put their faith in You. Remind us today what a blessing it is to know You…what a lonely and sad state we would be in without Your presence. Open blind eyes this week so that those who are walking in darkness may see and experience true intimacy with the One who made and knows them completely. Thank You for continually walking us through this life.

INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, deepen my faith and joy in the glories of Your gospel. Father, You know the multitude of sins I have committed in my life and even this past week. Help me hate my sin more and grow in grace as I contemplate what Christ has done to forgive me and free me from sin’s death grip. Open the eyes of my heart to see the glorious hope we have in Christ, Your love for all of the saints, and Your power at work in us who believe (Ephesians 1:18-21). Cause my heart to burn within me as we celebrate the gospel in song, learn and apply the gospel through the preached Word, and see the gospel in baptism and communion.

STUDENTS: Health (mental, emotional) Jesus, please help our students rest in You, knowing that You have overcome this world. When the cares of their hearts are many, may Your consolation cheer their souls, and fill them with power, love, and self-control – which we all desperately need. When they pass through deep waters and endure fiery trials, we pray they will feel Your presence with them as steady and sure as the breath in their lungs.

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 94:19 When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

2 Timothy 1:7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

CARE: Lord, guide me in acts of kindness, both big and small, this week. Let me be a source of warmth and positivity to those I encounter. As I go about my day, direct me to find opportunities where I can make a difference in the lives of others for Your glory alone – be that through a smile, a helping hand, or a kind word. Open the eyes of the lost so that through these acts of kindness, Your unfathomable love and care might be deeply felt and lives be forever changed. Thank You for the opportunity to spread Your love through simple acts of caring. In Your name, I pray. Amen.
