KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 13, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up our community, especially the surrounding neighborhoods. Show us how to love these people as we love ourselves. May our concern for their needs override other things that take our time and focus. May Your Spirit rebuild and restore areas within families that have been broken or devastated by sin. Renew our communities by sending Your peace and prosperity into the places where You have planted us. Please bless each individual home as You rebuild each family from the inside out.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:33
FMC VALUE: Value 1 – Kneel before we run: This value is listed first intentionally. Everything we do must begin from a place of desperation for and dependence on God. We have a race to run, but we must kneel in submission and devotion to God before we begin. Often ministry can become a distraction from our personal walk with the Lord. Soon we’ve sacrificed intimacy for productivity. Instead, our number one priority is to begin everything with prayer and submission flowing from a genuine heart for God.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, may our love greatly adorn the gospel. Father, Your Son said that the love we have for our brothers and sisters will proclaim to the world that we are Your disciples. Please deepen our love for one another and make us eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit. Help us care for all, not showing favoritism. May love compel us to strengthen the weak, bind up the injured, and serve patiently as we remember our service to others is service to You. Help us model Your unfathomable love for us in our honoring of one another, and so prove to the watching world that Christ has risen and reigns.
STUDENTS: Jesus, please help our students rest in You, knowing that You have overcome this world. When the cares of their hearts are many, may Your consolation cheer their souls, and fill them with power, love, and self-control – which we all desperately need. When they pass through deep waters and endure fiery trials, we pray they will feel Your presence with them as steady and sure as the breath in their lungs.
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 94:19 “When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.” 2 Timothy 1:7 “…for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
