KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 9, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up the marriages here at FMC. May they be honoring to You and Your design for marriage so that the world may see and love You more clearly. You have called Your church to a lifestyle that is counter to this world – humbly strengthen the hearts and minds of Your children as they seek to honor the calling you have placed on them through submission and reverence for one another – just as Christ submitted to the Father for the sake of the Church.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:22-24
FMC VALUE: Value 9 – Take it on the Chin: As FMC team members, we’re not going to make excuses. Instead, we will own whatever feedback, criticism, or issue has arisen. We will take responsibility, apologize if needed, and act to remedy any shortcomings rather than trying to escape from ownership even in the face of problems and challenges. Not only will each of us be open to feedback and constructive criticism; we will actively invite it. And when we give feedback, we will do it with grace.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, reveal to me the wonders of your Word. Father, as You spoke the world into existence, please continue to speak new life into Your children. Give us knowledge as we look to the glory of Your Son on display. Give us grace to receive Your Word and rejoice in it. And convict us of our sins so that we might hate it as much as You do! May the weak be strengthened, the strong be humbled, and the Church continually be built up!
STUDENTS: Growth in Character and Hope – Father, we pray that this time will teach our students what it means to rejoice in sufferings. We pray that You would make them resilient and persistent, more like Christ with every passing hardship, developing their character and leading them to hope in You alone.
SCRIPTURE: Romans 5:3-5 “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
