KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF DECEMBER 8, 2025

SERMON TITLE: Jesus Walks on Water

SCRIPTURE: John 6: 16-21

FOCUS: The storms of life help shape salvation within us.

FMC PRAYER: Elders – Father, this week we lift our elders to You. Thank You for placing Brian, Sherri, Josh, Steve, Garrett, and Jack as the elders of FMC. Help us respect and honor their decisions as they lead Your church in a closer and more honest relationship with You. We ask Father that You increase their integrity so that they live above reproach. Equip them daily in their devotion to their family, self-control in all circumstances, hospitality of their blessings, and the ability to teach Your Word. May they guide us in living out the Great Commission by inviting the broken and lost, accepting them as they are, but loving them enough to share the truth with them, with gentleness and humility. Strengthen them in their struggles so that their faith may grow each day – relying on Your strength and wisdom in all things.

ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…humility abounds. Almighty God, I confess that in the storms of life, I often focus on the storm and not on You. Please use my struggles to grow my faith and teach me how to find strength in YOU and not my own. Focus my eyes on Your Truth; encourage my heart in Your Word; and clear my mind of all fears, worries, and doubts so that I can live each day with the assurance that even in the storms of life, You reign and are sovereign. Lord, help me not to respond with “why me?” but to seek—more and more—to glorify You in every circumstance, because You alone are good.

FMC VALUES: Mission: Taking our next steps toward Christ, together! Amazing Father, as we live out the mission of FMC, we pray that we continually grow as a body of believers that comes alongside one another through life’s struggles – with love, compassion, and encouragement. May we not fear the storms of life, but instead, be confident in You, the One who holds the storms in Your hand. We pray that You open our eyes to those who may be sitting right next to us and are facing a ravaging storm, too afraid to talk about it. Equip us to come alongside them, so that they don’t feel alone, but instead experience the life-giving, transforming love of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

INVISIBLE CHURCH:  Lord, deepen our faith and joy in the glories of Your gospel. Help us to live out the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 4, that we might not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly, we ask for the renewal of Your compassion and mercies every day. Thank You for the reminder that our troubles in this world are temporary. Give us the strength to fix our eyes on the eternal truth of Your Word.

Jesus reminds us in John to not be afraid, “it is I”. Open our ears to hear Your voice over the clamour of the storms. Thank You, God, for being our comfort and the solid Rock that we can rely on and cling to.

STUDENTS: Growth in Character and Hope. Father, we pray over the students and youth who are experiencing the hard things of life right now. We pray You would make them resilient and persistent, more like Christ with every passing hardship, developing their character and leading them to hope in You alone. Grow in them compassion, empathy, and tender hearts towards each other. Equip those who teach or lead them to be on the constant lookout for those who are struggling, so that they come alongside them, and that the students can feel the full support of Your body around them.

CARE: Holy Spirit – thank You for living among us, dwelling in our hearts and minds, acting through our fingers, toes, and voices. Help us to listen for Your voice that whispers above the waves ripping through our lives. We humbly acknowledge our great need for You at all times, but especially when it comes to caring for others before ourselves. May there be no pride, self-centeredness, or self-glory. Instead, when another is going through a storm, allow us to step up and step out, glorifying You through the words we speak, the arms that hug, the feet that move, and the time well spent. In Your Son’s blessed name, we ask all these things. Amen.
