WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 15, 2025

SERMON TITLE: Wedding at Cana

SCRIPTURE: John 2: 1-12

FOCUS: Jesus fulfilled the old covenant ceremonial cleansing with water with the complete, spiritual and eternal cleansing of His own blood on the cross – the new (and best!) wine that satisfies forever. 

SEEKING GOD’S WILL: Lord, thank You for Jesus, who revealed at Cana that Your timing is always perfect. Open my eyes to identify when I am seeking my own desires instead of Yours. May my heart be quick to obey when You speak.

FOCUS ON GOD’S GLORY: Father, we celebrate that the miracle at Cana was more than wine—it was a revelation of Christ’s glory. Open our eyes to see that everything we do is meant to reflect Your splendor. May our lives point to Jesus as the One who fulfills every promise and satisfies every longing. Let us shine brightly so that others cannot help but glorify You and believe in the One You have sent.

INTERCESSION FOR OTHERS: Jesus, remember when Mary interceded for the wedding host and You made more wine for everyone, in the same way, please show Your abundant love and grace to _____. Pour out Your joy where there is sorrow, and Your salvation where there is brokenness. Intercede Jesus – in the miraculous way that only You can.

HUMILITY AND REPENTANCE: Almighty God, forgive me for my self-reliance, pride, and empty worship. Apart from the cleansing blood of Jesus, I know that I am unclean and without hope. Help me walk in the freedom of Your grace knowing that it’s Your Son’s blood that has cleansed me and how utterly dependant I am on Your mercy in my life.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Holy Spirit, the battle is real and it is overwhelming. We know that the enemy wants to rattle us and numb us to his presence in this life. Help us to fight back through the power of Your Spirit! Strengthen us to resist temptation, to stand firm in faith, and to proclaim boldly the good news that brings eternal life. Strengthen us to fight, not out of fear, but in the power of Your Spirit.
