KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF AUGUST 11, 2025

SERMON TITLE: Elisha Succeeds Elijah

SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 2: 15-25

FOCUS: Elijah is gone; Yahweh remains. We must have a healthy fear of Almighty God – He heals, and He destroys…the LORD gives, and the LORD takes away…blessed be the Name of the LORD.   

SEEKING GOD’S WILL: Lord Almighty, I surrender my plans today into Your sovereign hands. Teach me to walk in step with Your Spirit as Elisha did, seeking not my own way but the double portion of Your anointing so that I may boldly fulfill Your purposes with the community you have placed me in – to share your love and patience with a hurting and broken world. May Your will be done.

FOCUS ON GOD’S GLORY: Father, You alone are worthy of all praise and honor. Humbly keep me from chasing my own recognition and fame. Instead, let every victory and every trial in my life this week display Your steadfast love and power through my attitude and actions. Ultimately Lord, You know where my heart’s motives lie.

INTERCESSION FOR OTHERS: God of grace, just as You healed Jericho’s waters, I ask You to bring healing and life to those around me—family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. May Your Spirit remove the poison of sin, bitterness, and despair from their lives and replace it with the life giving water our Savior, Jesus Christ, offers.

HUMILITY AND REPENTANCE: Yahweh, El Roi, the God who sees me…forgive me for the times I have mocked Your ways—whether in my words, my thoughts, or my actions. Thank you for cleansing me with the blood of Jesus. Restore in me a deep reverence for Your holiness so that my life may be a living testimony of Your mercy and grace.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Holy Spirit, strengthen me to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy, knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood. Like Elisha journeying into enemy territory with confidence in You, make me bold to proclaim the gospel in dark places. Let my life and witness push back the kingdom of darkness, helping to raise up new disciples who will carry Your Light to the ends of the age.
