KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF JULY 21, 2025
SERMON TITLE: Elijah Taken up to Heaven
SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 2:1-14
FOCUS: The same God who provided for His people through Moses, is the same God who provided for His people through Elijah, is the same God who sent His Son to save His people, and is the same God who provides for us today.
SEEKING GOD’S WILL: Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. As Elisha walked alongside Elijah, You walked alongside Your disciples and taught them Truth, the same Truth that You reveal to us as we daily walk with You through Your Word. Help me to be attentive to Your voice this week and let that devotion shape how I love and lead those around me.
FOCUS ON GOD’S GLORY: God, You part seas and send fire from heaven to display Your majesty—let Your glory be revealed through my faithfulness, so that my words, actions, and attitude reflect the Greatness of who You are.
INTERCESSION FOR OTHERS: Father, just as the sons of the prophets stood watching and waiting, there are many in my life waiting for hope and healing. I lift them to You now—those walking through grief, uncertainty, and fear. Be near to the remnant among us. Strengthen the weary and restore the broken so that Your children may joyfully carry on Your work.
HUMILITY AND REPENTANCE: God, when Elisha tore his clothes, he acknowledged the weight of grief and the mantle of responsibility You placed on him. I confess that I often cling to comfort, pride, and self-sufficiency. Forgive me for resisting change and for trying to hold onto the past. I repent of my control and pride, and I humbly ask for Your Spirit to guide me forward.
SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Holy Spirit, we know that the same power that took Elijah up is the same power that equips us now. Clothe me in Your armor today. Guard my mind from lies, my heart from fear, and my spirit from discouragement.
