KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF JULY 7, 2025
SERMON TITLE: The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 1
FOCUS: There are two paths in the world, the dark one marked by evil and the well-lighted one marked by righteousness. There is no middle ground.
SEEKING GOD’S WILL: Heavenly Father, in a world overwhelmed by chaos, division, and the allure of darkness, we come humbly asking You to align our hearts with Your will. You have set before us two paths—one that leads to destruction and one that leads to life. Help us to desire the narrow, well-lit road of righteousness. May we not be swayed by the counsel of the wicked or the deceit of cultural trends, but stand firm in Your truth.
We grieve the devastation in the world around us—the lands scorched by wildfires in Canada and Greece, the floodwaters rising through homes and counties in Texas, and the hearts shattered by violence in cities like Chicago. Let these tragedies awaken us to the urgency of walking in step with Your will. Let us not be passive. Shape our beliefs through Scripture, not through fear, comfort, or distraction.
Lord, speak to us and lead us and may we respond with lives marked by joyful obedience to Your good and perfect will.
FOCUS ON GOD’S GLORY: Glorious God, we confess that we are quick to delight in many things—success, approval, entertainment—yet so slow to truly delight in You. You alone are worthy. Your Word is life, and in it is all wisdom, beauty, and joy. Help us to meditate on it day and night. Let us become the kind of people whose joy is rooted in eternal truth, not fleeting satisfaction.
Even as the earth groans, as war displaces millions, may our eyes be lifted to Your throne. You remain sovereign. You remain good. You remain glorious. May we live lives that reflect Your radiance, not for our gain, but so that all people would see Your greatness and glorify You.
Burn in us a passion for Your Name that eclipses every other desire.
INTERCESSION FOR OTHERS: Merciful God, we remember that we were once like chaff—tossed by the wind, empty in spirit, living without hope. But by Your grace, You called us out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. We don’t stand on our own righteousness but only by the righteousness of Christ.
So today, we lift up those still trapped in spiritual blindness. For our neighbors far from You. For those seduced by lies that promise freedom but deliver chains. For refugees in search of safety. For grieving fathers and mothers across the world. And for youth numbed by despair. Lord—have mercy.
Draw them to Yourself. Use us as beacons of light as we travel down the road that leads to salvation. Let us be people of bold compassion and faithful presence. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, and use our prayers as seeds that bear fruit in the lives of others.
HUMILITY AND REPENTANCE: Holy and Just God, there is no middle ground. We confess that we have often tried to live in the shadows, trying to enjoy the benefits of blessing while entertaining the ways of wickedness. Forgive us, Lord. Forgive our double-mindedness. Forgive the apathy that has dulled our spirits.
We repent on behalf of our own lives and also on behalf of nations and systems built on injustice and greed. We think of the millions without clean water, the children exploited for labor, the abused, the trafficked, the discarded. Let our repentance not be empty words but a turning—toward justice, toward mercy, toward lives lived in joyful submission to Your Kingdom.
Cleanse us. Restore us. Make us new. Plant us again by streams of living water.
SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Almighty Defender, we acknowledge that we do not battle against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in this present darkness. The enemy would love for us to be dry, withered, distracted, and joyless – but You have given us new life! You have given us Living Water and Your Spirit fills, refreshes, and equips us for every good work.
We pray the name of Jesus over every lie, every fear, every temptation. We pray protection over our families, churches, schools, and cities. Fortify believers in nations under persecution—places like Iran, North Korea, and Nigeria. Equip the Church to be vigilant and victorious, not by might, not by power, but by Your Spirit.
Root us deeply in You. Let our fruit be evident. Let our lives stand strong in the storms. May our leaves never wither, and may we prosper in all that we do for the sake of Your Kingdom.
