Four Mile Childcare offers the following services:
– Beaver Campus offers quality Christian care for children from 6 weeks old to 13 years of age
– South Side Campus offers quality Christian care for children from 12 months old to 13 years of age
– Operating hours: 6:30am to 6:00pm
– Monday-Friday rates
– 1⁄2 day rates
– Weekly part-time rates
– Weekly 1⁄2 day rates
- To prepare activities that stimulate the senses, recognizing that infants learn through the use of their eyes, ears, fingers, and sense of taste and smell
- To care for the children in an organized fashion so that it leads to more one-on-one care
- To provide ample opportunities for the children to develop their fine and gross motor skills through
the use of indoor and outdoor activities - To provide consistency between the home and the center, in regards to establishing a sleeping and feeding schedule, that works well for both parties
- To report to parents on a daily basis the specifics of the child’s day in written form
- To implement and follow all rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Public Welfare
- To establish a system that is used to evaluate and observe the children throughout the year by using Child Service Reports and Ages and Stages Questionnaires on a bi-annual basis
- To establish a system to transition infants to the young toddler area at the appropriate time
- To make available a wide variety of age appropriate manipulatives that the children are able to use each day
- To provide a wide variety of activities that begins to introduce the children to the spiritual and curriculum areas of: daily prayer, bible stories, circle time, art, science, cooking, social studies, dramatic play, language, large motor skills, and music and movement
- To provide opportunities in which the children are able to develop their language skills
- To report to parents on a daily basis the specifics of the child’s day in written form
- To develop self help skills in order to create a feeling of independence and confidence in the child. These self help skills include, but are not limited to: toilet training, dressing one’s self, and letting him/her participate in certain clean up tasks throughout the day
- To establish a system that is used to evaluate and observe the children throughout the year using Child Service Reports and Ages and Stages Questionnaires on a bi-annual basis
- To provide ample opportunities for the children to develop their fine and gross motor skills through the use of indoor and outdoor activities
- To provide an atmosphere where the children discover and explore, to teach them independence through teaching the HOW and WHERE, to find solutions
- To provide a wide variety of activities that are established in a routine that foster cooperative play. The curriculum and spiritual area of the routine are as follows: daily prayer, table prayers, bible stories and biblical based learning units, art, math, science, cooking, music and movement, dramatic play, and language arts
- To develop a system that promotes kindergarten readiness and enables the children to be ready to enter the school system. This system may include proper handwriting skills; alphabet and number recognition; creative arts and crafts; games; stories; phonics; easy reading skills; field trips; food preparation; science and nature activities; exposure to shapes and colors; and celebrations of birthdays and holidays
- To provide ample opportunities for the children to develop their fine and gross motor skills through the use of indoor and outdoor activities
- To establish a system that is used to evaluate and observe the children throughout the year by using Child Service Reports and Ages and Stages Questionnaires on a bi-annual basis
- To provide an opportunity to become independent and responsible through self directed and individualized activities
- To provide an environment where the child will develop on enthusiasm for learning, exploring, and creativity through the use of constructive play activities in the areas of: art, drama, literature, cooking, music and movement, social science, large motor, science, manipulative, multi-cultural, health and safety activities
- To provide ample opportunities for the children to develop their fine and gross motor skills through the use of indoor and outdoor activities
- To establish a system that is used to evaluate and observe the children throughout the year and to provide parents with open and honest feedback by using Child Service Reports and Develop- mental Check-List for Ages 5-12 on a bi-annual basis
- To provide a procedure for students transitioning out of child-care due to maximum age stipulations by using the “On My Own and OK” program

- To ensure that the staff employs proper communication techniques so that information is passed between parents and staff while
maintaining a professional level of confidentiality
Admission
Applicants must come into our childcare for a personal tour of our facility and an opportunity to meet with the director and/or staff. Parents and children are asked at this time to observe our daily activities. If terms of enrollment are accepted, the process of admission will begin.
