What is GO?

GO is a spiritual growth campaign at Four Mile that is taking place over three years starting in the Fall of 2010.  This campaign is part of a calling that we have felt at Four Mile to grow our church and reach out to a nearby community in need.  This campaign goes beyond traditional giving, as it requires a deeper level of faith, hard work, openness, and devotion in order to accomplish the many goals that we have.  There are four key initiatives that make up the campaign, each requiring financial support, volunteer work for planning, designing, preparing and building, and prayer for support and guidance in decision-making.

Why should we GO?

Dear Four Mile Friends and Family,

As you read the Bible, it’s not long before you realize that the people God touches and calls are often going somewhere! Some were going out of Egypt to the Promised Land. Others were going away from slavery into freedom. Many were called to go someplace new, leaving behind an old life. Whether it’s from darkness to light, from confusion to truth, from alone into community or from living for self to living for Him, the fact is:  the Lord’s people are going places.

At Four Mile Church, we are also going somewhere.  I believe with all my heart that God is calling us to a new place of service, new depths of spiritual growth and new levels of impact within this world.  It is very exciting and very challenging to be called to do God’s work, but in the end, it’s the most important work that we have to do.

Included below are some of the details about where God is calling us and what we are going to accomplish over the next several years. It requires courage, effort, sacrifice, focus and prayer. But isn’t that the life of faith? Here is what I know – as we GO together, trusting God, giving our best and staying the course He sets before us – we will look back with full hearts and without regret.

I trust that what you discover here will get your heart beating fast for God and His purposes in this world.  Serving Him is a privilege and a responsibility that we intend to make the most of as His church in this world.
