OUR CHURCH ROOF

The sanctuary was built in 1984, and the current roof is the original, which makes the shingles about 37 years old.
Over the past year, we have had to deal with damage resulting from leaks in the roof over our sanctuary. In the course of repairs and evaluation, it has become clear that it is time to acknowledge the reality – the building is in need of a new roof.
Dear Four Mile and Friends,
Hopefully, you have seen some of the incredible ways God is both blessing and using us as a church community – even in the midst of a pandemic!
Even though the way we do ministry and discipleship has changed dramatically over the past 12 months and likely will continue to change as things settle into new patterns for life and work – we still seek to make maximum use of our facilities.
That means their upkeep and maintenance remain a priority. That is why starting in March 2021 we are kicking off a financial campaign to raise approximately $60,000. Over the past year, we have had to deal with damage resulting from leaks in the roof over our sanctuary. In the course of repairs and evaluation, it has become clear that it is time to acknowledge the reality – the building is in need of a new roof.
So – as we did with the old boiler with the ‘turn up the heat’ campaign we are seeking to do again with a ‘raise the roof campaign.’ We want our church to come together and with sacrificial giving above and beyond normal giving raise the funds necessary to cover the cost of putting a new roof over our heads.
We are asking everyone to prayerfully consider your part and to complete the commitment form by Sunday, March 14th. If we all sacrifice together we believe we will meet the challenge and get the job done and be set for another 30-year run.
Sincerely,
Elders, finance and building and grounds teams
