“How then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10:14-15a)

Here at Four Mile, we have been impacting our local and regional community for over 100 years through community service projects and by working alongside established agencies.  We currently collaborate with the Salvation Army, the New Castle City Rescue Mission, Shepherd’s Heart, the World Vision Distribution Center, Habitat for Humanity, Tiger Pause, the Women’s Shelter, and other local ministries.  In addition, Four Mile has several special community service projects that we currently lead:

Midland 2010

Midland Community Center Project – We are reaching out to the nearby town of Midland to help fulfill a need in this community.  Through this project, we are starting a childcare center and community center for the children who live in Midland.  Ultimately, our goal is to provide a Christian-based center and church for these families that will be a source of faith, hope and support that is much needed in this community.  This project is primarily being funded through donations from our church members as part of our GO campaign.  You can read more about the GO campaign by clicking here.

Midland Super Week – During the week of August 2-6, 2010, 51 volunteers from Four Mile held a summer camp, serving 77 Midland students grades 1-6.  The children had a great time with team-building activities and crazy challenges.  This was our first step in reaching out to the children and their families in this community.

Midland Super Week was so much FUN in 2010 that we are sponsoring it again in 2011! Here are the details:

Second Saturday

This is our monthly outreach day.  On the second Saturday of each month from 8:30am until noon, Four Milers of all ages go out into the community and serve.  We partner with town officials, businesses, local ministries and residents, finding needs and meeting them in practical ways.  On any given month you’ll find us renovating buildings, fixing up public parks, helping shut-ins, visiting nursing homes, collecting canned goods and interacting with the surrounding community in any way that gives hope or shares God’s love.

Four Mile Food Bank

Our on-site food bank is open to anyone in need regardless of the circumstance, on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 10am-noon. Our church members are committed to feeding the hungry and contribute to the food bank regularly through monetary and food donations in addition to helping to buy, stock, cook and serve food to those in need.

If you would like to participate in these community missions, or have any needs we could help with, please Martin Williams at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
